Wedding Website

What should you include on your wedding website? We get asked this question all the time, and it is a good question! Let's break it down to the essentials!

Your Love Story:

Briefly recap how you first met, where you had your first date when you got engaged, and the proposal story! Guests love to hear/read all these details too!

Wedding Date and Location (time if you have it):

If it's early in the process you may not have all the details, but including your venue and wedding date are key. Once you have the time you can update that later. If you want to take it a step further once you have the details state if your ceremony is inside or out, cocktail hour location, and the reception. It allows guests to come prepared that they may need a sweater for crisp fall air or to wear a wedge rather than heels due to the grass!

Wedding Dress Code:

This again is for the guests. You know the type of event you are planning, but the more information you can provide your guests the better.

Hotel Block Information:

This is extremely helpful to guests. Not only are they typically discounted, but it also allows couples to plan ahead and book their rooms early! Bonus if you provide transportation information here too! Whether you are providing shuttle buses or guests are responsible for getting to and from the venue themselves, this is also helpful information for guests to prepare in advance!

Bridal Party Information:

Not required, but a nice touch for guests to see and read!

CDC Guidelines:

This is extremely helpful, especially during these times. Guests who are not planning weddings, may not be aware of the current wedding rules. It gives guests an idea if they were originally invited and guidelines changed to a 10 person max event (as they are, at the time this blog was written), then there may be a web-link viewing that will be provided, the couple may postpone their date, or a change of date will be coming soon.

Where do you find a website? There are tons of places that provide free websites nowadays. Minted, Wedding Wire, Zola, The Knot,With Joy, all have free wedding website features that can be taken advantage of!

One more nice touch to include and fill your website with is your engagement pictures! This is one advantage of booking and hiring your wedding photographer early, you can get these photos taken and be able to make a beautiful website!

Reach out if you have any other questions on what to include on your website!
